Every once in a while, I pull an older session from the archives and am reminded exactly why I loved it so much in the first place. This newborn session in Marietta, GA has always stood out to me, and it’s one I’m so happy to revisit.

What immediately caught my eye about this family was their use of color and texture. They weren’t afraid to step outside of the typical neutral newborn aesthetic, and I absolutely loved it. From the layers and textures throughout their home to the beautiful pops of color, everything felt warm, personal, and completely them.

And then there was their gorgeous sun porch. The light poured into the space, creating the most beautiful, soft backdrop for their newborn photos. There’s something special about photographing families in their own homes, especially when the space already has so much personality. The result is a gallery that feels authentic to the family rather than overly styled or staged.

Of course, the sweetest part of this Marietta newborn photography session was watching big brother and big sister with their new baby sister. They were both completely adorable with her and so excited to have her home. Those sibling moments are some of my favorite images from a newborn session because they capture the beginning of a relationship that will continue to grow and change throughout their lives.

Looking back through this session years later, I’m reminded why I love lifestyle newborn photography so much. It isn’t just about photographing a tiny new baby. It’s about documenting the family as they were in that exact season — their home, their personalities, the little details, and the way everyone loved on their newest family member.
