There is just something magical about summer evenings spent by the river. Bare feet in the water, kids skipping rocks, laughter echoing through the trees, and the golden light filtering through the leaves- it all comes together to create the kind of memories that deserve to be remembered.

This year’s Summer River Minis came with one unexpected challenge: the weather. Between afternoon thunderstorms and unpredictable forecasts, we had to stay flexible and adjust schedules more than once. I am so grateful to every family who rolled with the changes and trusted the process. Thanks to everyone’s patience, we were able to photograph almost every single session, and it was absolutely worth it.

One of the things I love most about these sessions is how relaxed they feel. There is no pressure for perfectly posed smiles. Instead, families get to explore, splash in the water, cuddle close, and simply enjoy being together. Those genuine moments always become my favorite images.

Watching children light up as they waded through the river and embraced the carefree spirit of summer was such a joy. Every family brought their own unique energy, and I loved capturing those authentic connections.

Thank you to all of the wonderful families who joined me for this year’s Summer River Minis. Your flexibility, laughter, and willingness to embrace whatever the weather brought made these sessions so special. I already can’t wait to do them again next summer!
