There’s something extra special about documenting life right where it unfolds and this in-home session with the sweetest 18-month-old twins was the perfect reminder of that. It also happens to be my own twins in my own home.

I kept the entire session in their nursery, a space that already holds so much of their everyday magic. From the soft light pouring through the windows to the carefully chosen details that reflect my style, it was the perfect backdrop for capturing this stage of life. At 18 months, everything is movement, curiosity, and personality and these two brought all of that and more.

They toddled from one corner to the next, climbed, giggled, and explored every inch of their space. Their bond was undeniable, built-in best friends, always within arm’s reach of each other.

What I love most about sessions like this is how honest they feel. No pressure, no posing—just real moments in a place that means something. The nursery won’t always look like this, and they won’t always be this small, but these images will bring it all rushing back.

In-home sessions, especially with toddlers, allow for a slower, more natural pace. And when it’s all said and done, you’re left with more than just photos—you have a glimpse into your everyday life, exactly as it is right now.
