Oh the Holidays!

I always have these grand plans of everything that I am going to do with my kids.  We are going to bake cookies, and go look at Christmas lights while I capture their joy with my camera.  We are going to sing Christmas songs, and snuggle up to watch a different Christmas movie every night. I’m going to get the perfect shots with the perfect bokeh (blur) of the lights.  It’s just going to be the MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR…..

…or not.

Decorating the tree was about all that went well in our house.  Baking cookies ended with the toddler crying up a snotty mess, me yelling at them to stop throwing flour everywhere and sprinkles rolling into every crevice of my house.  I hardly ever brought out my camera, and the only lights we saw were the ones we would happen to pass to and from the Mexican joint a couple of times a week  after consuming entirely too much cheese dip and salsa. (Hello 10lb weight gain)

Things may not have gone as planned, but it really was a beautiful Christmas.  I enjoyed the time with my kids, and memories were made.  Now I’m ready to get back into the swing of things and start off 2019 with a bang!
